Terms of Use

Terms of use and end-user license (EULA) for cyber-framework.net and the Cyber Framework game.

Version 1.1 · Effective from 13.10.2026

1. Introductory provisions

1.1 These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern the use of the website cyber-framework.net (the "Website") and the browser game Cyber Framework at play.cyber-framework.net (the "Game"). Together they are called the "Service".

1.2 The Service is operated by Václav Bílý (xprees), sole trader, ID No. (IČO): 22056475, with registered address at E. Košťála 1009, Parricide 530 12, Czech Republic, email [email protected] (the "Operator", "we").

1.3 Before you start the Game, we show you a link to these Terms. By starting the Game, you agree with them. These Terms also apply to your use of the Website. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.4 We describe how we process personal data in a separate Privacy Policy.

2. Who may use the Game

2.1 The Game is designed for players aged 15 and over. Players under 15 may play only with the consent and under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, or teacher.

2.2 A school or other institution that uses the Game in teaching is responsible for appropriate supervision of its pupils.

3. License (EULA)

3.1 The Game and the Website, including their scenarios, articles, texts, graphics, audio, video, source code, and other content, are protected by copyright and belong to the Operator or its licensors.

3.2 The public version of the Game is provided free of charge. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license, unlimited in territory, to use the Game in a web browser for:

  • personal, non-commercial purposes, and
  • non-commercial educational purposes, including teaching in schools.

3.3 Non-commercial educational use includes, in particular, teaching at schools and universities (public or private) and use by libraries and non-profit organizations, as long as participants are not charged a fee for the training itself.

3.4 Any other use, in particular training a company's employees, reselling the Game, or including it in paid courses, workshops, or services, requires a separate written agreement with the Operator. Such an agreement, including a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR takes precedence over these Terms.

3.5 Unless the law expressly permits it, you must not:

  • copy, modify, translate, decompile, or reverse-engineer the Game, or create derivative works from it,
  • access the Game automatically (bots, scrapers, mass requests), or manipulate scores or game data,
  • interfere with the security or availability of the Service, overload it, or try to gain unauthorized access to it,
  • remove copyright notices or present the Game or its content as your own.

3.6 You may read the Website's content, share links to it, and quote from it within the limits of copyright law, with attribution. Any other reuse, such as republishing whole articles, requires our permission.

3.7 The Game includes third-party open-source components, each under its own license (listed at link to third-party notices). If we publish any part of the Game's source code under an open-source license, that license governs that part. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.

4. Nicknames and conduct

4.1 You may choose a nickname in the Game. It is stored only in your browser and is not sent to us. Do not use your real name or anyone else's personal information.

4.2 Some scenarios include fake login pages and other simulated forms. Never type real passwords, email addresses, or other personal details into them. Always make them up.

4.3 We may restrict access to the Service for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms, in particular Section 3.5.

5. Educational content

5.1 The scenarios, characters, companies, messages, and websites in the Game and in the threat articles on the Website are fictional. They are created to train how to recognize cyber threats. Any resemblance to real persons or organizations is unintended, except for the publicly known brands we mention for illustration.

5.2 The content is educational and general. It is not professional security, legal, or technical advice, and it does not replace your organization's security policy. If you are dealing with a real security incident, contact your IT department, your bank, or the Police of the Czech Republic.

5.3 Never use what you learn from the Game to attack other people or systems.

6. Availability and changes to the Service

6.1 We work to keep the Service available and working, but we cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available on every device and browser. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if the Game, as digital content, is defective.

6.2 We may update the Game, for example, to fix bugs, keep it secure, add or change scenarios, or comply with the law. Updates are free of charge. If a change significantly limits your access to or use of the Game, we will announce it in advance on the Website or in the Game.

6.3 We may suspend or end the Service. Where reasonably possible, we will announce the end of the Service on the Website at least 30 days in advance.

6.4 Game progress is stored in your browser and may be lost, for example, if you clear your browser data. We do not keep a copy of it.

7. Liability

7.1 The Service is free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the loss of game progress or for damage caused by relying on the Game's educational content instead of professional advice (Section 5.2).

7.2 This limitation does not apply to harm to a person's natural rights, or to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence (Section 2898 of the Czech Civil Code). It does not affect consumers' rights that contract cannot exclude.

8. Reporting security vulnerabilities

8.1 If you find a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it to [email protected].

8.2 We will not take or support legal action against you for security research done in good faith, as long as you:

  • test only our own systems, not those of our providers (such as Hetzner or Cloudflare) or of other people,
  • access only the data needed to demonstrate the vulnerability, and do not keep, share, or change it,
  • do not disrupt the Service or affect other players, and
  • give us reasonable time to fix the issue before you disclose it publicly.

8.3 Research done in line with this Section does not breach Section 3.5. This Section does not affect the powers of law enforcement authorities.

9. Final provisions

9.1 These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection given to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence.

9.2 If you are a consumer, you may bring a dispute to the out-of-court consumer dispute resolution body, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 15, 120 00 Prague 2, www.coi.cz.

9.3 We may change these Terms, for example, when we add new features or B2B services. We will publish the new version on this page with its effective date and, if the change is significant, show a notice in the Game before it takes effect. If you do not agree with the new version, stop using the Service; you can do so at any time. If you continue to use the Service after the change takes effect, the new version applies to you.

9.4 If any provision of these Terms is invalid or ineffective, the remaining provisions still apply.

9.5 These Terms are published in Czech and English, and you can save or print them from this page. If the two versions differ, the Czech version prevails.
